I thought you were my BFF,

We did everything together,
I thought this must be true friendship, it must.
We used to share all our secrets,
And hang out all the time,
It was fun being your friend,
I was your best friend and you were mine.
But then you did something horrible,
Something a best friend should not do,
You exchanged mean words about me with my ex,
I didn’t think that was you.
And now I know what your really like,
I’ve cried and cried but now I’m ok,
It’s time to move on and forget I think,
Time to make new friends and a new best friend one day.
You will regret what you have done,
And wish you never did it,
Cause you will never find a BFF like me again,
You’ve blew it, it’s done, that’s the end of it.
I cried for you..... but my tears are no more!
Nice one Shawny, really think this is brilliant- so powerful, I found it really effective- it had a very consistent rhythm throughout and it really suited it. Is this based on a true experience? Sorry if it is, that's rotton :( It makes for an absolutely superb poem, I really did enjoy it and totally loved the last verse which is where the poetic voice becomes empowered- kind of makes me feel that everything is going to be alright for her- it's the other person's loss whereas she has everything to gain. You've got talent lady- look at how effective the other poem was and yet it had a completely different set of emotions. Keep showing off your versatility, I'm loving it!
