These days i think sex is totally over-rated. Everyone feels the need to have it and even though the legal age is 16, most teenagers are having it by the age of 12, which I think is wrong. Why can't parent's discipline their children and teach them not to have sex at such a young age. There's no need for underage sex. Sex is for adults and i think children shouldn't even know about it until they're about 14 or 13 the youngest. But these days 8 and 9 year old's know more about sexual intercourse than what i do. I didn't learn about sex until i was about 13 or 14 years old which i think is the right age to know about it. I will admit i lost my virginity at the age of 15, my mum didn't know but when she found out she went crazy at me and put me straight on the pill. I also think contraceptive's are getting used less and less, which means teenage pregnancy and the risk of getting STD's are increasing. I also think most teenagers are pressured into sex either by their friends nagging them saying they have got to do it or a boy forces them into it. But you shouldn't feel forced or pressured because then it's not enjoyable and sex should be enjoyed but leave it until your older and when you feel the time is right for you. I have a friend who hasn't had sex yet and she is 18, she hasn't had it because she wants it to be with someone she loves, many times she has felt pressured but she has stayed strong which is the best thing to do. I don't understand why people want to have children at such a young age for, a child takes up the whole of your life, there's not much time for friends or going our or relaxing, it's just work, come home and look after the baby. What teenager would want a life like that? Most of being a teenager is all about going out with friends and having fun, but having a baby would take away that experience. But then most teenagers think "Oops i got pregnant, oh well let's have an abortion". I hate people who do that. I am totally against abortions and anyone who doesn't have a good reason to have one disgusts me. I mean your ending a life before it's even started, it's an innocent baby and teenagers want to abort it when it's their fault for not using contraception. I would prefer it if teenage girls had the baby's but gave it up for adoption because at least then the baby would be living and having a life with parent's who love and care for them, even though i'm not keen on adoption either.
And it's not just underage sex or pregnancy which causes a stir these days. Smoking and drinking are also very common with young teenagers. I don't discriminate against anyone who smokes or drinks, i mean i have a drink now and again and i know alot of people who smoke. But these days i see 12 year old's hanging round the streets with cans in their hands. And once or twice i've even been asked to go in the shop to get fags or booze for some 13 year old's, but i plainly say no because i'm not going to be the reason for someones 13 year old child getting hammered and ending up having their stomach pumped. Recently someone who i know put on facebook that he was drunk and he is only 11 years old, i think it's disgusting. I'm not sure if his mum knew because i know her and i know she wouldn't let her 11 year old son drink. I think most teenagers are pressured into drinking and smoking because they feel if they don't do it then they will be branded "uncool" and think they may get bullied. But if you teenagers just say no then you will realise in about 40 years time the people who said yes will be shaking your hand for saying no, because you will be fit and healthy while they can't even walk far without getting out of breath or they will have no money and be an alcoholic. So in the end you will come off better and a more "cool" person. But i see youngsters drinking and smoking and taking drugs and i think why? Oh god why? They are ruining their lives at such a young age and most of the time the parent's just stand back and let it happen, not having a care in the world. And they should care because that's their child, they gave birth to him/her. They should want their child to have a full long life.
So my point today is i hope that teenage pregnancy, underage sex, smoking and underage drinking can be brought to a halt, because it's not fair and it's not nice to see our future generation throwing their lives away. They need to be disciplined and be shown the outcome of their lives if they carry on in this way. They should be shown that they need to be having fun and that can be done without smoking, drinking and sex.
Don't throw your life away!
You don't need any of these thing's to have fun or to be "cool"
It's simple: Just say NO!
I agree with every single thing you said in this post! Awesome post baabbe! :-) xoxo
